The Coolest Shoe Trends to Shop for Fall 2024

Including but not limited to: Buckled flats, slouchy boots and loafers galore.

by : Lauren Knowles

When the FW24 presentations took to the catwalk earlier this year, it was clear we’d be in for a fall season full of chic footwear. From buckled boots at Christian Dior to timeless loafers courtesy of Blumarine, fashion’s top designers forecasted seasonally-appropriate shoe styles well worth shopping.

Taking cues from the runway, we’ve rounded up the top five fall 2024 shoe trends you can expect to see (and wear!) everywhere this autumn—plus, where to purchase them.

Fall 2024 Shoe Trend: Buckle Up

Fall 2024 Shoe Trend: Baggy Boots

Launchmetrics Spotlight / Chanel

We’re often encouraged not to slouch—but that rule doesn’t apply to footwear for the fall 2024 season. During their autumn/winter 2024 presentations, fashion houses from Diesel and Fendi to Chanel and Isabel Marant sent models down the runway wearing ultra-baggy boots with loose-fitting silhouettes. Contrasted against streamlined trench coats and pencil skirts, these slouchy stompers are surprisingly wearable off-the-runway, too.

Fall 2024 Shoe Trend: All Tied Up

Launchmetrics Spotlight / Ulla Johnson

According to trend-setting labels like Simone Rocha, Louis Vuitton, Ulla Johnson and Giorgio Armani, corsetted footwear will be everywhere this autumn. From tied-up flats to strappy slingbacks, seek out chic shoes that go heavy on the laces to complement your fall getups.

Fall 2024 Shoe Trend: Holy Hardware!

Launchmetrics Spotlight / Chloé

Studs! Sequins! Shoe charms! Following in Chloé, Giambattista Valli and Roberto Cavalli’s footsteps, the statement shoes of the season will be dotted with metallic hardware accents of all proportions. What’s more, this embellished footwear trend can be worn well into winter–when fun party shoes are needed for holiday fêtes and gatherings.

Fall 2024 Shoe Trend: Loads of Loafers

Launchmetrics Spotlight / Blumarine

While loafers are an eternally stylish shoe you can reach for at any time of year, they’re undeniably a staple shoe for autumn. But don’t just take our word for it—look to the Stella McCartney, Victoria Beckham and Rabanne Fall 2024 runways, where loafers came in platform, leather and classic flat variations.
