The 10 Biggest Wedding Fashion Trends For 2026 According to Bridal Designers
Here’s what to wear down the aisle this year.
There’s an incredible sense of freshness shaping wedding style in 2026. Traditional fabrics like lace and tulle are being reinvented with a distinctly modern edge, while designer details draw on nostalgic romance and a love of the natural world. Artful, bold silhouettes reflect a spirit of authenticity and self-assuredness, speaking to the mindset of today’s modern bride.
“What excites me most about brides right now is their confidence,” says Kate Halfpenny, designer and founder of celebrated British bridal brand Halfpenny London. “There’s a real sense of self. Brides are less interested in tradition for tradition’s sake, and far more drawn to pieces that feel, intentional, expressive, and personal.”
What specific stylings are bridal designers loving right now? We spoke to Halfpenny, as well as three other leading industry talents—fellow British designer Savannah Miller, Ou Ma from Canadian label OUMA Couture, and Sharon Server, head designer for Galia Lahav—to find out what they’re currently obsessed with. Here are 10 trends to embrace if you’re saying, ‘I do’ in the year ahead.
2026 Wedding Trends: Tailored Lace

“Lace feels inherently ‘bridal’, but tailored lace feels powerful,” Halfpenny says. “It has romance, but also clarity and confidence. Clean seams, strong shoulders, and defined waists allow lace to move away from being decorative and to become architectural, bridging the gap between softness and strength.”
2026 Wedding Trends: Slip Silhouettes

“Minimalist bridal styling continues to gain momentum, and this classic silhouette combines effortless sophistication with bridal sensibility,” Ma reports. “It offers a refined yet intimate approach that resonates with brides today.”
2026 Wedding Trends: Boho Beautiful

“The boho bride is back but in a much more elevated and chic way,” Sever shares. “It’s all about effortless silhouettes, soft movements and sheer layers, and romance, but executed with couture technique and intention. This version feels confident, effortless, and emotional rather than over styled. It feels authentic, free, modern, and young.”
2026 Wedding Trends: Textured Fabrics

“Bridal fashion is embracing tactile depth, with layered textiles, three-dimensional lace, and mixed-fabric constructions,” Ma says. “This move toward texture adds luxurious dimension and visual richness, elevating gowns beyond flat silhouettes. It’s about creating gowns using fabrics that invite touch and create unforgettable movement.”
2026 Wedding Trends: Undone Balletic Flow

“Inspired by the grace of ballet, I am loving the mix of strength and fluidity,” Miller says. “I adore using soft, fluid, silk fabrics that move with the body, perfectly balanced with delicate, intricate lace detailing. This look brings a sense of joyful, free-spirited movement to the bridal look, combining an undone nonchalance with structured, elegant support underneath.”
2026 Wedding Trends: Drop Waist Drama

“Basque shapes and drop waistlines elongate the torso and create a modern fashion-forward profile,” Ma says. “This trend reimagines vintage influences through contemporary tailoring.” Miller is also a huge fan of dramatic waistlines which she says offer subtle glamour that is both empowering and sexy. “Combining sleek, structural bodices with voluminous, romantic skirts, dresses feel very of the now but also timeless.”
2026 Wedding Trends: Unexpected Details

“This year, brides are falling in love with gowns that reveal themselves slowly,” Sharon explains. “A dramatic back, an unexpected cutout, couture embellishment, or elements that come alive as the bride moves and as you take a closer look at the gown. An insider detail I love is designing gowns that transform from ceremony to reception without a full-dress change. These touches feel intentional and iconic.”
2026 Wedding Trends: Non-Traditional Veils

“I’ve always believed a veil should be an extension of a bride’s personality, not a tradition you have to follow,” Halfpenny says. “Veils have such an emotional impact, and I love veils that feel unexpected: short, dramatic, layered, embroidered and textural. A veil can frame the face, change proportions, or completely transform a look, but it doesn’t need to be delicate or conventional.”
2026 Wedding Trends: Strong Structures

“Architectural bodices with sharp lines and corsetry balanced with light, flowing fabrics like silk, chiffon, tulle are very fresh,” Server shares. “I love when a gown feels powerful but still moves beautifully.” Halfpenny reports one of her favourite details to give a minimalist gown a bold silhouette are pannier hips because they give structure without weight or stiffness. “They create a strong outline and a sense of presence.”
2026 Wedding Trends: Floral Fabrications

“I am using chiffon, jacquard, lace, and organza to create three-dimensional, almost artistic, detailing that gives a dress a living, breathing quality,” Miller shares. “With brides moving towards having a deep personal connection to their wedding style, organic, tactile designs feel deeply romantic and unique, allowing the bride to feel aligned with nature while looking exceptionally sophisticated.”
