Pom & Mary Coupe Cocktail
By Elle Talk
This pomegranate cocktail has notes of muddled rosemary and elderflower. It’s herbal with tart notes which makes it a wonderful dry gin cocktail served in an oversized coupe glass.
If I had a favorite category of cocktail, it would be coupe cocktails. What is it about being served a drink in a coupe glass that makes you feel fancy and elegant? So of course when I say these these Bormioli Rocco Spazio oversized coupe glasses I feel in love. I knew I wanted to make a fall cocktail with them that was elegant for autumn dinner parties but could easy fit into everyday. Thus this dry gin Pom and Mary Coupe was made. With pomegranate season about to start it seemed fitting to mix it around with autumn liquor and herbs. This drink is slightly sweet with herbal and tart notes that make for a complex and flavorful cocktail. It pairs darn well with a Thanksgiving turkey and stuffing took.
POM & MARY COUPE COCKTAIL
Pom & Mary, sort of sounds like a band, right? This odd combination might just be one of my favorite fall flavor combos. Pomegranate and rosemary meld together beautifully and make complex flavors with minimal effort. This drink not only works in the fall but also fits right in with Holiday entertaining with it’s luscious red color. So how is it made?
In a shaker you’ll muddle together fresh rosemary leaves and lemon juice. Once you can smell the rosemary fragrance coming out of the cocktail shaker you can stop. Then add ice to the shaker and pour in dry gin, pomegranate juice, and elderflower liqueur. Give it a few good stirs around the shaker then fine strain it into an oversized coupe glass. I use the gorgeous Bormioli Rocco Spazio ones. They are weighted just right that the glass doesn’t feel like it will break in my hand or it will knock off easily. Which are some of my biggest critiques when it comes to stemmed glassware because I’m notorious B.I.G. for knocking glasses.
